Ron Herrel, left, Flushing, NY and Tom Lutz, Lincoln, RI in a photo booth at the railroad station in Chicago,
about June 1952. Ron departed CHI for CT school in Seattle and Tom departed for ET school on
Treasure Island, prior to CT school at Skaggs Island. We had been in the same boot camp company.

I rejoined my "twin", as we were referred to in Japan, at Kami Seya 1953-55. Unfortunately Ron has
passed and is interred at Calverton National Cemetery.

A couple pictures from Kami "Activities" (?) day summer 1954 - a gathering shot and a shot depicting preparation for the 2 legged race.

I don't recall my racing partner's name, but I am joined with the tallest shipmate in the picture, adjusting my hat.
