James E. Flynn, CTTSN USN, 1961-1964 I thought I would add my brief story. I had sent this to Bob Ericson, because I reminded me of my story, but I would like to share it. What I can see as the common thread is that we all scored high in the aptitude tests, and somehow we were considered prime candidates for CT school. Message follows. Seamus Mine was a similar -- but different -- story. I had taken typing my senior year in HS, because I knew it was a course without homework. A senior classmate who had just returned to Lakeport, CA on leave, told me to volunteer to be the unit yeoman, because I could type, and I would not have to stand watch, or carry a piece while marching. I was a kiddie cruiser, and I wanted to be an ET. I became company yeoman, and when we went to the placement session, my CPO recommended that I ask for CT school. (I don't think I even knew what Morse code was at the time). I did, and the rest is history. I went to Pensacola and Goodfellow before two very memorable years at Kami Seya as a CT-T branch -- 1962-64. Jim "Errol" Flynn
