Robert B. Ericson, CTRC USN Retired, 1962-1982 Some interesting stories here so far, so I'm about to add my own. Facing the end of High School, I was wondering what to do with my life. Then, as fate would have it, my Uncle (a CTR) came to our home for a visit. Coming from Japan, and now driving a bright red MG convertible, I just knew what I wanted to do. He told me that I should join the military, the Navy in particular, and that I needed to score well on the radio tests, and if I did, be sure to ask about going to CT school. The recruiter really didn't have much information about the CT rating, but made sure that the top 3 choices were all CT's. Well I did score well on the radio test, and they say the rest is history. Thanks to my Uncle Eddie (Ed Pomeroy - CTRC), I had a very rewarding career in the Naval Security Group. I can also thank my other Uncle Tom (Tom Leonard - CTRC) for helping me along the way.
