Note :

There are many methods that can be used to go through this project.
The following is just one of the many methods.

Start project by going to WA6AXE Joe's Ham Radio website at: http://www.navycthistory.com/wa6axe/selection.html

Click-on the LINK for the report.

Dialog window opens ... Radio Buttion "Save it to disk"
Press Ok.
The "Save to ..." window opens. We want to PATH over to the
Reports   directory of DXbase. The next few images will
take us through the "pathing".
Find the "Program Files" directory and double-click on it.
Find the "Scientific Solutions" directory and double-click on it.
Find the "DXbase 2007" directory and double-click on it.
Find the "Reports" directory and double-click on it.
We are now in the Reports directory. Press the Save button.
Open your ZIP extraction program. Press the Browse button.
If the program does not open into the Reports directory, PATH
over to it - and find/highlight the ZIP file that you downloaded.
Click-on Open.
I have just finished browsing over to the Reports directory
of DXbase. And, have selected the ZIP file that I want to open.
Click-on Next ...
We want the extracted files to be saved into the Reports directory
so, highlight everything that is past the "Reports\" - and - delete it.
This action ensures that the pathing is "to" the Reports directory.
Now that the unwanted path is deleted, Click the   Next>   button.
Window shows that the files were extracted. Press Finish button.

Now, bring up the Wordpad program. Go to your computer's
Start ICON / Accressories / Wordpad ... and, double-click on
Wordpad. The Wordpad program will open up.

When Wordpad opens up, go to Wordpad's main menu,
File / Open .. make sure that the "Look in ..." is
in the Reports directory of DXbase. If it is not, PATH
over to the Reports directory of DXbase - just like we
did before.

Highlight the TXT file that was extracted the from ZIP file. In
this example, it was entitled:
Rptdesc_ini_file_words_that_must_added_in.txt - Click Open.

This photo shows the contents of the TEXT (txt) file. The
line of words will be used to make the entry in the Rptdesc.ini
file. Hold this window open - the contents will be used shortly.

Open up a new Wordpad program. Go to your computer's
Start ICON / Accressories / Wordpad ... and, double-click on
Wordpad. The Wordpad program (new window) will open up.

This time, with the Wordpad program open, PATH over to the
DXbase 2007 main directory. Highlight the Rptdesc.ini
filename. Click Open.

This photo shows the contents of the DXbase 2007 Rptdesc.ini
file just after it opens. We are at the top of the file.

Scrolldown to the very bottom of the file. In this example we
will ADD a brand new folder to the Rptdesc.ini file.

We will add the new folder - START by making a new line just
underneath the *** that you see at the bottom of the file.
Now, type-in a [ (open bracket) - then type in the words that will
describe the folder itself. In this example I will type in
New Reports made by WA6AXE
then, close that line out with a ] (close bracket).

The full line should look like:

[New Reports made by WA6AXE]

Begin a new line. Type-in three stars     ***
The 3 stars completes the setup for the folder that will hold
the line of words that we will be adding to the Rptdesc.ini file

The 2 lines that we have now made - makes the folder within
the Rptdesc.ini file.

Bring back up the Wordpad program window that contains the
words we will be adding to the Rptdesc.ini file.

Highlight the line of words.

Go to the Wordpad program's main menu / Edit / Copy
and click-on Copy.

Bring back up the Wordpad program window that contains
the Rptdesc.ini file.

Make a new line between the 2 lines that we have added
in the previous steps. This will make a place for us
to paste the line of words into the Rptdesc.ini file.

Paste in the words that we Copied in the previous step.

Go to the Wordpad's main menu / File / Save
and click-on Save.

The Rptdesc.ini file is now updated with the new info.
And, we will be ready to use the new report.

Close both of the Wordpad program windows.

Open your DXbase program.

Go to DXbase Main Menu / Output / Standard Reports ...
Click-on Standard Reports ...

This photo shows the Select Standard Report window.
And, you can see the folder that we made in the Rptdesc.ini file

Click-on the   +   sign to the left of our new
folder's name. This action will show the contents of that
folder. Highlight the filename of the new Report.

Click-on the View Button.

In this report, there are 3 Options. The dialog window
will open to the first TAB. Select/Type-in the Year.

Select the 2nd TAB (Bands) - and select the choice you want
for this report.

Select the 3rd TAB (Deleted Entities) - and select
Deleted Entities - No or Yes.

Aftr all options have been selected - Click OK.

This photo shows the output of the sample report. At this
point, you can print the report, or, output the report via
the Export ICON.

Note: the numbers up at the top of the screen mean nothing
to this report. The STATS you will want to look at are
actually in the report itself.
