Richard O. Broughton, CTRCS USN Retired, 1956-1976 I joined the Naval Reserve in High School. I obligated for six years as required at the time. After graduation I went to Barber College. Out of Barber College, still atteending reserve meetings, i started my barber career. I had intended to do a two year apprenticeship then do my two years active duty. Three months into the apprenticeship the Reserves said I was going to active duty. I went to Denver for the physical and at the end of the line was a Regular Navy recuriter. I tried to talk him into a shipserviceman's rate as a barber, but no go. He promised an electronics school (EFSA) if i obligated for four years. Okay! off to boot camp I went. I boot camp at San Diego I met T. J. Adams from Little Rock, AR.. He wanted someone to become a CT with him. So at classification I ask for CT. Needless to say T J. and I were selected and sent to IB for CTR school. I havent't seen or heard of Adams since. Dick Broughton, CTRCS, RET 56-76
