Jarome L. Barnes, CTT1, USN Retired, 1966-1988


I went in the Navy in '66 on the buddy plan with Jerry ?. We were in boot camp 
in San Deigo at classification. He was in this very short line on the other side 
of the passageway. I was in the Sonar Tech line. He got in to his interview first 
and came out real happy. I jumped over to his line when our CC wasn't looking. 
Found out he was going to school in Pensacola for 15 weeks. Well since we both 
lived in Pascagoula MS, only 90 miles from home I deciede that being a sonar tech 
wasn't such a good idea.
